Take your coffee service skills and knowledge to the next level and attend NAMA’s Quality Coffee Certification Program (QCCP). Attendees of QCCP participate in two interactive workshops with a series of guided tasting and brewing exercises over a two-day period. Those who complete the two QCCP workshops can apply for and become eligible to take the exam to receive the Certified Coffee Specialist (CCS) designation, a recognized “Mark of Distinction” in the coffee service industry.

COFFEE FUNDAMENTALS

During this course, participants will gain a full understanding about the development of coffee and its rich history. Experience a thorough review of the steps involved in coffee production and manufacturing and the impact each step has on the quality of coffee. Through guided tasting exercises, you’ll experience the taste and flavor profiles of single-origin and blended coffees.

   

BREWING FUNDAMENTALS

Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

In Brewing Fundamentals, attendees will be introduced to the basic theory and principles involved in the preparation of filtered coffees. Through guided brewing exercises, you’ll taste how the slightest change in the grind, extraction time, or brew time can alter the taste profile.

Coffee Strategic Plan

The NAMA Coffee Committee has spent the past six months on a Strategic Plan focused solely on the Coffee Service market and exciting new ways to exploit opportunities for growth in office coffee, tea and water. Coffee Committee Chairman Howard Chapman will share the elements of the Plan with NAMA members, including its primary pillars of advocacy, networking and education along with ideas for operators to celebrate the fun of coffee with National Coffee Day and National Coffee Week, how tea can be the new growth market, plus other business-builders and special events.
